A behavioral health organization is seeking an experienced Medical Director to provide psychiatric leadership, clinical oversight, and direct patient care across outpatient behavioral health services.
This position combines psychiatric evaluation and medication management responsibilities with medical leadership, quality improvement initiatives, and collaboration with multidisciplinary clinical teams. The successful candidate will support both child and adult populations through in-person and telehealth services while helping shape clinical programs and service delivery standards.
Conduct psychiatric evaluations and medication reviews
Prescribe and monitor psychiatric medications
Provide care through telehealth and in-person appointments as needed
Offer clinical consultation and guidance to multidisciplinary teams
Participate in behavioral treatment planning and case reviews
Support the development of clinical procedures and service protocols
Monitor quality of psychiatric services and patient outcomes
Lead and participate in clinical, compliance, and quality improvement meetings
Provide training and educational support to clinical staff
Assist with recruitment, supervision, and evaluation of psychiatric personnel
Ensure compliance with regulatory and professional standards
Support the ongoing development of behavioral health programs
M.D. or D.O. with an active Michigan medical license
Board Certification in Child Psychiatry
Ability to prescribe psychiatric medications
Minimum 5 years of experience working with both children and adults
Experience providing psychiatric care within behavioral health settings
Strong leadership and clinical consultation skills
Experience with telehealth platforms and electronic medical records
Ability to work with patients experiencing a range of behavioral health conditions
Substance Abuse Certification
Experience with community mental health systems
Experience treating substance use disorders and dual-diagnosis patients
Experience supervising psychiatric staff and advanced practitioners
Knowledge of quality improvement and compliance programs
Trauma-informed leadership experience
