Overview

A multidisciplinary engineering consultancy is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to support the delivery of complex building services projects across Cardiff, South Wales, and wider UK markets.

This role offers the opportunity to work on technically challenging projects while contributing to design excellence, client engagement, and the continued development of engineering capabilities within a collaborative team environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver coordinated and cost-effective mechanical design solutions for a variety of building projects

• Produce technical calculations, specifications, reports, and design documentation

• Design and develop mechanical building systems using modern engineering tools and software

• Take ownership of technical delivery on projects, either independently or as part of a multidisciplinary team

• Contribute to innovation, process improvement, and technical development initiatives

• Participate in client meetings, design reviews, site visits, and project workshops

• Manage workloads effectively while maintaining quality and meeting project deadlines

• Collaborate with engineers, architects, contractors, and other project stakeholders

Requirements

Required

• Proven experience delivering mechanical building services designs on complex projects

• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC, heating, ventilation, and cooling systems

• Experience working within multidisciplinary project environments

• Proficiency with design software such as Revit and AutoCAD

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

• Knowledge of relevant engineering standards, regulations, and industry best practices

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple project priorities

Preferred

• Consultancy experience within building services engineering

• Experience delivering projects across commercial, healthcare, education, research, or industrial sectors

• Experience mentoring junior engineers and supporting team development

• Strong technical reporting and documentation skill
