A leading engineering consultancy is seeking a Senior Associate Electrical Engineer to join its Cambridge team and support the delivery of complex, high-profile projects across sectors including science and research, healthcare, education, and commercial developments.

This leadership role offers the opportunity to guide multidisciplinary teams, manage client relationships, oversee project performance, and contribute to the continued growth of a collaborative and technically focused engineering practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of major electrical engineering projects

• Act as the primary point of contact for clients and key stakeholders

• Build and maintain long-term client relationships

• Manage project performance, financials, and risk considerations

• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams and project inputs

• Support business development, proposals, and new project opportunities

• Provide technical leadership and maintain high-quality design standards

• Mentor, develop, and support engineering team members

• Review technical deliverables and ensure project quality

• Report project progress, resources, and performance to senior leadership

Requirements

Required

• Chartered Electrical Engineer status

• Extensive experience delivering complex electrical engineering projects

• Strong technical knowledge of building services electrical systems

• Experience leading multidisciplinary project teams

• Excellent client-facing communication and relationship management skills

• Strong organisational, leadership, and project management abilities

• Ability to manage project risks, priorities, and commercial considerations

Preferred

• Experience in science, research, healthcare, education, or commercial sectors

• Experience supporting business development and proposal activities

• Experience mentoring and developing engineering professionals

• Strong understanding of multidisciplinary design environments
