Overview

A multidisciplinary engineering consultancy is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to take a leading role in the delivery of complex building services projects while supporting the continued growth of a dynamic engineering team.

This position offers the opportunity to influence project strategy, maintain technical excellence, mentor engineers, and contribute to the successful delivery of large-scale projects across a variety of sectors.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead electrical engineering design on complex and high-profile projects

• Develop project concepts and technical solutions from early stages through delivery

• Ensure designs meet quality standards, regulatory requirements, and client expectations

• Manage client relationships and coordinate with contractors, consultants, and project stakeholders

• Oversee project budgets, resource allocation, and delivery performance

• Support multidisciplinary project coordination and integrated design solutions

• Mentor and develop engineers at various stages of their careers

• Promote technical excellence, consistency, and best practices across project teams

• Support the growth and development of the wider engineering team

Requirements

Required

• Significant experience in electrical building services engineering

• Strong technical expertise in electrical systems design

• Experience leading complex engineering projects

• Excellent client-facing communication and stakeholder management skills

• Experience managing project performance, resources, and delivery schedules

• Strong leadership and team development capabilities

Preferred

• Experience with Revit and BIM workflows

• Knowledge of lighting design and engineering modelling software

• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams

• Experience mentoring and developing engineers

• Consultancy experience within building services engineering
