Overview

A multidisciplinary engineering consultancy is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to support the delivery of complex building services projects across sectors including science, research, healthcare, education, commercial developments, and advanced manufacturing.

This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of technical design delivery, collaborate with clients and project teams, and contribute to innovative projects across both UK and international markets. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining technical excellence while supporting the development of junior engineers and strengthening the wider engineering team.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead electrical building services design on technically challenging projects

• Develop concept designs, technical reports, calculations, specifications, and drawings

• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated engineering solutions

• Participate in client meetings, workshops, design reviews, and site visits

• Translate client requirements into practical engineering solutions

• Manage project workloads, schedules, and delivery milestones

• Review technical outputs to ensure quality, compliance, and consistency

• Support project planning, forecasting, and delivery performance

• Mentor junior engineers, graduates, and apprentices

• Identify opportunities for innovation, digital improvement, and process efficiency

Requirements

Required

• Experience delivering electrical building services designs on complex projects

• Strong knowledge of electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, and life safety systems

• Experience producing technical calculations, reports, and specifications

• Strong understanding of industry standards and engineering best practices

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines

Preferred

• Experience with Revit and BIM workflows

• Knowledge of Dialux, Relux, Electrical OM, or similar design software

• Experience working with multidisciplinary design teams

• Experience mentoring or supporting junior engineers

• Experience in healthcare, research, education, commercial, or industrial sector
